Bhuvaneshwar: Pre-monsoon rains are likely to occur in Odisha from 5th of this month, as the regional MeT department said that they would occur in south and interior pockets of the state on June 6 and 7.
Meanwhile, heat wave conditions continued in the western parts of the State yesterday with mercury still hovering around 40 degree Celsius in some places.
While Bhawanipatna recorded the highest temperature at 44.7 degree, Hirakud, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Titilagarh, Malkangiri and Sonepur also registered above 40 degree.
A trough line has reportedly developed across southern parts of Chhattisgarh and there is probability of thunderstorms in some areas of Odisha. (ANI)
