Prayers For Sri Lanka @ Ravana Temple In India

Jodhpur, April 01: To those who are unaware, there is a temple for Ravana in India and this is at Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Apparently, the locals believe the town is the native place for Mandodari, wife of Ravana and an umbrella named ‘Chavri’ still stands there. Now, the temple has come into discussion and the reason for that is the India- Sri Lanka world cup final clash.

It is heard that prayers and offerings are happening in the temple wishing a win for Sri Lanka. Incidentally, Ravana’s gothram is Moudgalyasa and his father is a Brahmin (Poulasthya Brahma) while mother is an Asura. So, the Moudgalyasa Brahmins believed to be the descendants are running that temple since thousands of years.

With the objective that Sri Lanka should win the final, it is heard that the pundits are reading Aditya Hrudayam every morning. They say that even Lord Rama read Aditya Hrudayam before going to battle against Ravana so this time they will use the same approach and ensure Sri Lanka, the land of Ravana, wins against the Indians. Let us see whether it will be Rama or Ravana’s land as the winners.
