Prank caller held for ringing up police control room

A prank caller who allegedly made several calls to the police control room here was arrested today and produced before a local court. On a tip off, the Narayanguda police arrested Nenawath Bheemlal, holding him responsible for dialling ‘100’ several times from his mobile and for abusing the operator of the Main Police Control Room in “filthy” language, the police said. He kept the number busy for two hours, though it is meant for emergencies, the police said. Earlier, a complaint was lodged, stating that an unknown person dialled the number on February 23 night and made 133 calls from a mobile phone. The caller, then abused the operator in filthy language for about two hours. PTI
