Pranab not opposed to T state: Yadav Reddy

The MLC and Telangana senior Congress leader Yadava Reddy has made it clear that the UPA Government’s presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee was not against the creation of separate Telangana State.

Speaking to the media at the Assembly premises here on Monday, Yadava Reddy said that it was not correct the on the part of various leaders to accuse Pranab by pointing out that he didn’t submit a report on Telangana. The Centre had announced a statement in favor of Telangana on December 9, 2009 and Pranab Committee on Telangana stopped working on it. The new one– Justice Srikrishna Committee appointed to study on Telangana issue– made the Pranab Committee defunct.

He also made it clear that it was sure that Pranab will become the President of the nation, whether the State’s political parties extended their support or not. (NSS)
