President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday night cut short his visit to Odisha and was returning to the capital after his wife Suvra was hospitalised following illness.
Official sources said Suvra, who has been ill for sometime, has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the hospital in Delhi.
The President was on a two-day visit to Odhisa and he was scheduled to attend a convocation of National Law University at Cuttack.
The President paid performed puja at Puri’s Jagannath Temple this morning and later visited Puri beach to see sand sculptures of famous artist Sudarshan Patnaik.
