Hyderabad, September 13: When Rajasekhara Reddy’s aide and Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao meets Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee tomorrow, the latter is likely to put forth before him some alterantive propsals to him other than making Jagan Mohan Reddy the Chief Minister of the State.
According to party sources, Pranan Mukherjee might offer a berth to Jagan Mohan Reddy in the Central Cabinet or the leadership of Pradesh Congress Committee or some other position in the Government. KVP may stay in Delhi for some more days till a `solution’ is found.
Before his departure to New Delhi, Ramachandra Rao told media persons that his visit was intended to make himself available in the national capital to provide `required information’ to the Congress high command on successor issue. Earlier in the day, the Rajya Sabha member held discussions with Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao, former Assembly Speaker KR Suresh Reddy and other leaders of the State.
He spent four days in New Delhi and met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other party leaders to appraise them about the prevailing political situation in the State and the need to make Jagan the next chief minister.
He returned to the city to attend an all-party condolence meeting organised by the State Government at Ravindra Bharathi yesterday evening.
