Praja Rajyam leaders make representation to election commission

Hyderabad, May 28: Praja Rajyam leaders C Ramachandraiah and MLA G Srinivas Rao today visited officials of election commission at New Delhi and appealed election commission to sanction the process of merger of the Praja Rajyam Party with the Congress.

The matter of Praja Rajyam party’s merger with Congress was pending with election commission and Praja Rajyam party has submitted required documents for merger to the election commission.

It is said that on request of Praja Rajyam election commission has sent a letter to Congress party seeking its opinion and congress has informed the commission that Praja Rajyam is merging with Congress on its own and it has got Congress’ approval.

It has been told that party plans to hold a public meeting shortly in connection with the merger.

Meanwhile Praja Rajyam president Chiranjivi met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and invited her to the public meeting.
