Praja Rajyam gearing up to keep tribe together

Hyderabad, June 30: In order to avert an exodus of its tribe, Praja Rajyam leaders will be fanning out to the districts from July 1.

Two leaders will be made in-charges of each district and tasked with holding meetings with candidates, leaders and key workers at the district headquarters up to July 7. Later, they will tour the constituencies for an in-depth study of the party position at the grasssroots.

The in-charges — 46 in all — have been asked to determine the reliability of the cadres so that the party can work out as to who should be persuaded to stay and who weeded out or allowed to go.

The exercise will continue till the second week of August, after which the party will take up the appointment of district, constituency and mandal committees.

Party president Chiranjeevi will visit the districts along with the respective leaders from the second week of July and interact with the cadres.

An orientation meeting was held for the 46 in-charges at the party office here today under the chairmanship of party president Chiranjeevi.

Briefing newsmen about the deliberations at the meeting, party political affairs committee member C Ramachandraiah said the in-charges would seek suggestions from the district leaders on how to strengthen the party.

These meetings are meant to build confidence in party leaders and workers and the in-charges will convey how focused party president Chiranjeevi is about consolidating the party, the PAC member stated.

Meanwhile, the PAC member rubbished reports that all constituency incharges would remain. He said only those seriously committed to the party would continue in their posts.

Ramachandraiah said the party was ready for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections and that the convener of the GH area would be announced in a couple of days.
