Pradyuman Murder: Gurgaon Court rejects bail plea of accused

Gurgaon: The Gurgaon Court today has rejected bail plea of 17-year-accused and murderer of seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur at the Ryan International School.

The teen randomly picked Pradyuman and slit his throat in school’s bathroom to avert the scheduled Parent teacher meeting in the school and also to postpone his approaching examination.

The Gurgaon Police had then arrested school’s bus conductor for murdering seven-year-old Pradyuman who was found dead with his throat slit in the school’s bathroom.

However, the case was later transferred to CBI who arrested the Class 11 student after they found CCTV footage showing the teen leaving the washroom. On interrogation, the teen had confessed to murdering Pradyuman.

The teen was sent to a juvenile home in November and has been staying there since then.

According to the sources, the teen is experiencing anger issues since the past year and kept changing his statements during the interrogation, however, his father alleged that his son was “hung upside down and brutally thrashed” by the CBI in order to get a false confession.

The Juvenile Justice Board on 20 December held the accused shall be tried as an adult after victims parents appealed the same. The Board had directed the accused to be produced before Gurgaon Sessions court noting that the accused was mature enough to recognise the consequences of his actions, NDTV reported.
