Pradhan discusses skill development of Indians with UAE Human Resource Minister

Abu Dhabi: Indian Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday called on UAE’s Minister for Human Resource Nasser Bin Thani Juma Al Hamli and discussed enhancing skills of Indians in the UAE.

“Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship with Amb @navdeepsuri called on HE Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and discussed enhancing skill development of Indians in UAE,” read a tweet posted by the Indian Embassy in the UAE.

Highlighting the agenda of the meeting, Pradhan said that he discussed with the Minister for Human Resource the areas of cooperation in the field of skill development of Indian people working in the UAE.

He further elaborated, “Discussed the need of synchronisation of certification and standards of the two countries so that people skilled in India get easy employment in UAE; cooperation in higher skill areas compatible with Industrial Revolution 4.0”
Pradhan, who is also the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, noted that there are about 3.3 million Indian workers in the UAE currently and more than 1.5 lakh new workers come from India to the UAE every year. “It is necessary that they come with required skills to be suitably employed in the UAE,” the minister tweeted.

Indian Ambassador to the UAE Navdeep Suri, who was also present at the meeting, hailed the talks as “very productive” while tweeting, “Very productive and forward-looking meeting between Minister @dpradhanbjp and UAE Min for Human Resources and Emiratisation. Focus now on tangible steps in India-UAE skill mapping project.”

Suri had earlier mentioned that Pradhan’s visit to the Arab nation will advance India-UAE strategic energy partnership as well. “Look forward to receiving Minister @dpradhanbjp today. An important visit that will advance the #India #UAE strategic energy partnership and also give a boost to collaboration in the skills sector,” the Ambassador tweeted.

Pradhan arrived in the UAE on Sunday on a two-day official visit.
