Hong Kong, January 05: An earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale jolted Solomon Islands at 1225 GMT on Tuesday, the Hong Kong Observatory said.
The epicentre of the quake was at 9.4 degrees south latitude and 157.2 degrees east longitude, about 300 km west of Honiara, Solomon Islands.
