GHMC has disconnected power supply to as many as 240 unauthorised cell phone towers, the day before, as they had not taken approval from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. According to GHMC officials, more than 6,000 unauthorised cell towers functioning under the GHMC.
Although GHMC had issued notices to the operators to regularize the connection, but they ignored the same, hence GHMC took the action against them and disconnected power supply to 240 cell towers. GHMC asked the cell tower companies to immediately upload the tower information to GHMC for further action.
