Power scenario in Delhi improved significantly: Dikshit

New Delhi, March 16: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said the infrastructure related to power distribution has improved significantly in the city in the last five years.

Replying to a question in the assembly, Dikshit said the city discoms have initiated several measures to improve their network and strengthen their infrastructure.

She said the aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses have come down drastically in the last five years.

The Chief Minister said discom BYPL made a profit of 57.62 crore in the financial year 2008-09 while Tata-backed discom NDPL recorded a profit of Rs 171.47 crore in the same year.

However, she said, discom BRPL suffered a loss of Rs 108.45 crore last year.

Dikshit said both BRPL and BYPL suffered losses of Rs 449.34 crore and Rs 55 crore respectively in the year 2007-08 while NDPL made a profit of Rs 281.58 crore in the year.
