Tirunelveli, March 12:Southern Railway General Manager Deepak Kishan today commissioned a power plant near Nalli railway station in Virudhunagar district.
The windmill-cum-solar power plant could produce seven KW power which would act as a backup when grid fails. It could provide uninterrupted power supply for 16 hours, official sources said.
He also inspected railway facilities between Tirunelveli and Virudhunagar railway stations.
