The Central Distribution Company Limited (CPDCL) has asked organisers of Ganesh pandals to take temporary power supply connections (low tension) by paying the necessary charges.
According to a release issued here on Monday, the CPDCL authorities said that organisers have to pay Rs 500 for power load of 250 watt.
From 250 watt upto 500 watt, the amount would be Rs 1,000 for the10-day Ganesh festivities. For usage of above 500 watt, the charges would be Rs 1,500 and Rs 750 would be charged for every additional 500 watt of power usage.
“If organisers come forward to take metered connections, we will provide them as per the rules under LT temporary supply. Illegal tapping of power is an offence under the Electricity Act, 2003,” the release added.
CPDCL also asked organisers to contact phone number ‘155333’ or any local CPDCL official for electrical related emergency services.
