Power cuts to industries to be lifted soon

Hyderabad, April 14: Power cuts to industries will be lifted in phases once the demand from agriculture sector comes down from third week of this month, APTransco officials informed Chief Minister K Rosaiah. Industries were being allowed open access to source power from generators within and outside the State, they said.

Reviewing the power supply position and addition of generation capacity with the officials of Energy department, APTransco and Genco officials, here today, Rosaiah instructed the officials to complete the projects strictly adhering to the time schedule. He asked them to prepare a clear-cut report stating the `definite power additionality’ to the AP Power Grid every month, so that APTransco can have an advanced plan to meet the consumers’ demand.

Rosaiah said the State Government was ready to solve any problems with regard to land acquisition, water availability and coal linkages etc so that the completion of the projects could be expedited.
