Being upset due to financial crisis, a family of five committed suicide by consuming pesticide on Saturday morning near Bhongir of Nalgonda district, police said. The deceased were Ramesh, his three children and Ramesh’s mother.
According to sources, Ramesh lost his wife a year ago and was living with his three children and mother. He and his family used to sell rings and chains on footpaths near Bhongir bus-stand to make both ends meet.
On Friday night Ramesh administered poison to his mother Padma (62), his children Saroopa (8), Kaveri (4) and Nandani (2) and later he himself consumed it. Locals informed the police about the incident on Saturday morning. Bodies were shifted to a government hospital in Bhongir for autopsy. According to relatives financial crisis led them to take this extreme step.
