Hyderabad, February 09: After grilling Vijayawada-based TDP leader Vallabhaneni Vamshi in faction leader Gangula Suryanarayana Reddy alias Maddelacheruvu Suri’s killing, the city police are now planning to grill some of the close aides of former TDP minister the late Paritala Ravi.
The sleuths of the Central Crime Station (CCS) are likely to question self-styled commander of Reorganisation Committee (ROC) Pothula Suresh and another associate of Paritala Ravi, Chaman.
The CCS started questioning all those named by Suri’s wife, G Bhanumathi, in her complaint to the police after her husband’s killing.
Vallabhaneni Vamshi, a Ravi’s aide, was grilled for nearly six hours yesterday night about his links with the prime suspect in Suri’s killing, Bhanu Kiran alias Bhanu. Though it was suspected that Vamshi would be questioned today again, it did not happen. Sources, however, said Vamshi would be summoned again to elicit more information about Bhanu.
Pothula Suresh, who was arrested by the police a few weeks before the murder of Suri, is currently lodged in the Cherlapally central prison. The investigators have to take the permission of the court to question Suresh. Police suspect it was Suresh, a key aide of Ravi, who eliminated several of the latter’s rivals in the name of ROC.
Meanwhile, the CCS sleuths are likely to intensify their search for Telugu film producer Singanamala Ramesh, against whom a couple of cases have been registered after his anticipatory bail plea was rejected by a court. Ramesh is also said to be a close associate of Bhanu and the duo have allegedly intimidated some persons in the name of Suri.
Ramesh applied for anticipatory bail in the case related to duping the owner of Shalimar videos who sought video rights of Pavan Kalyan starrer, Komaram Puli, which was produced by Ramesh. Cases of cheating and criminal intimidation were registered against Ramesh by a financier and a film distributor after the murder of Suri.
