New Delhi, April 08: Potato futures prices fell by Rs 16.70 to Rs 508.70 per quintal today on increased arrival in the physical market against sluggish demand. Lower trend in producing regions also influenced the trading sentiment.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, potato for April contract fell by Rs 6.70, or 1.30 per cent, to Rs 508.70 per quintal with an open interest of 8,910 lots. Potato for delivery in May also declined by Rs 4.70, or 0.92 per cent, to Rs 508.90 per quintal in turnover of 26,085 lots.
Traders said increased arrivals in the spot market against sluggish demand mainly pulled down potato prices at futures market.
