Posters mocking Aam Aadmi Party chief in Varanasi Arvind Kejriwal for resigning as Delhi Chief Minister within merely 49 days of assuming power angered party supporters.
Party supporters slammed the people behind the negative campaign against Kejriwal and said the sole motive behind such a drive was to defame him ahead of the elections in the city.
“We feel that it is very foolish of them to put such posters especially challenging such a person who has always walked on the path of truth and in a way the people who are behind this are not realizing that they are actually discouraging a person who wants to fight for justice and corruption. The party’s only motto is eradicating corruption from this country and that is the sole driving force for all the partymen,” said a party supporter, Aman Shah.
The posters were stuck keeping in view Kejriwal’s visit to Varanasi on Tuesday in where he is contesting against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Party supporters further added that AAP had launched a battle against the politics of corruption which was followed by the vice president of Congress, Rahul Gandhi and Modi.
“People who are mocking him and claiming that he ran way from his duties should first answer who over here is performing all his duties? We say that people who are fighting for two-two seats should answer as to what they themselves are doing. Arvind Kejriwal right from the very beginning has stated clearly that he is fighting for “Jan Lokpal (Anti-Corruption) Bill” as is clear from his campaign for “India against Corruption (IAC)”. He left his Chief Minister post also because the bill was not cleared. He has always said that he has never been greedy for a seat. We will first win the hearts of people and when we form our government and the first thing we will clear is the anti-corruption bill,” said Rupesh Singh.
Recently in an exclusive interview to a national daily, Kejriwal admitted that his decision to quit as Delhi chief minister was wrong. (ANI)
