Post buffaloes, Azam Khan shifts focus on RSS

UP minister Azam Khan has put down on paper to the Union Home Ministry asserting that the RSS was promoting anti-nationalism in the country.

Khan, in a letter to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh alleged that the Sangh leaders were trying to spark turbulence among the Muslims.

While expressing his view, Khan cited the alert issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs advising the states to make certain vigil and proper security during the festive period to take avoiding action against communal disturbances.

“RSS sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat had said in Lucknow three days ago that the Muslims of India were Hindus.

Such a statement could hurt the sentiment of the Muslim community. Bhagwat is trying to vitiate the atmosphere… We all know the role of the RSS in many anti-national activities in the past. So, I demand that the Union home ministry initiates action against Bhagwat,” Khan said.

Bhagwat has maintained that Hindutva is its identity as India is a Hindu nation.

Khan in a meeting at Aligarh Muslim University’s Old Boys Association on Tuesday evening said that the Sangh was taking a crack at to divide the country and the union government should consider it seriously.

“We received an alert from the Union Home Ministry stating that the anti-social elements could try to communlise the atmosphere in several districts of the state.

“The ministry has stated that hate-mongers could disturb social harmony through their speeches. The RSS did the same during its recent meeting in Lucknow. I fail to understand why the ministry shouldn’t initiate action against Bhagwat for a speech hurting the Muslim community”.
