Marseille: Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal will take on Poland in the first quarterfinal of the Euro 2016 in the southern French city of Marseille on Thursday.
While Portugal reached the quarterfinals following a 1-0 win over Croatia, Poland booked their last eight spot after defeating Switzerland in a thrilling penalty shootout.
Poland are unbeaten in their past three matches against Portugal and the match is touted as a clash between the monstrous Polish centre back and the fiery pair of Ronaldo and Nani.
However, Portugal defenders need to be wary of misfiring Robert Lewandowski and in-form striker Jakub Blaszczykowski if they are to reach the semi-finals for the fifth time in seven European Championship finals. (ANI)
