Pork Festival: Siasat Online readers responded to Hindu outfit’s move

Hyderabad: Protesting beef fests, a Hindu outfit, Indu Makkal Katchi-Tamilagama in Coimbatore serves pork to the agitators and demanded a ban on beef and those who wanted to eat it should move out of India.

Well, the kind of food produced and the cooking practices of different areas depend on the nature of the geography of each particular region.

Serving pork against beef fests is just a political gimmick. Many Muslim countries are allowing it as said by one of The Siasat Daily online readers, who hailed the kind of protests because it has no effect on Muslims.

Shahul Hameed said, “Muslims have no problem with it. Many muslim countries allowing it.”

Another Syed Ameen posted, “ Go ahead Muslims don’t mind.”

Peter Masih said, “ Eating of meat, beef or pork does not bother any body, such things matters to politician who make concpiracy as how to get political milage. Such things are seen only in India. This because our politicians are not capable to run the country compitently. Only Goondas,Persons having Black money and hailng communal hatred,” comment on The Siasat Daily Facebook.

A food’s adaptability to a particular region can define that region. For instance, eleven countries around the sphere still eat dog meat which includes China, Indonesia, Korea, etc.

Crocodiles are popular foods in the central African country of Zaire. In Los Angeles, Rattlesnakes are wrapped up in a sausage-like casing. Philadelphia also offers a stir-fried Alligator meat and curry dish on their specialty menu.
The people’s eating habits are strongly influenced by culture.

The fact that consumption of pork (pig meat) is prohibited in Islam is well known. The following points explain various aspects of this prohibition.

Eating Pork (pig meat) is forbidden in the Quran:

The Quran prohibits the consumption of pork in many verses including (Al-Mā’idah 5:3), (An-Naĥl 16:115), (Al-‘An`ām 6:145).

“He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah”. (Al Baqara 2:173)

The above given verses of the Holy Quran are enough to satisfy Muslims as to why pork or eating pig meat is forbidden and that any prohibition in the Holy book is ultimately for their own good.

One Muhammad Janeshar Akhtar said, “Pork is not a lord. We worship Allah not animals like you do. So this will not affect us. If you want to protest then protest against corruption. It will benefit both of us. Here in Orissa no one is protesting. None celebrating this fest to divide Indian.”

Salman Shaikh said, “Pork is prohibited in Islam due to its unhygienic reasons, consumption of which is bad for human health. for example if the animal is infected with guinea worm which will be alive even after cooking the meet to 1000 degrees which will have its direct effects on consuming , secondly the consumption of pork will produce a very bad smell (odour) in the body which is intolerable to others.”

Disease caused by eating pig meat (pork):

The pig is one of the filthiest animals on earth. It feed on any kind of food, including dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, garbage, small animals and even other pigs. They eat anything and everything.

Eating the meat of pig can cause over 70 different types of latent diseases as their body contains a number of TOXINS and deadly parasitic WORMS like tapeworm, pinworm, roundworm, etc.

Prohibition of eating pork (pig meat) does not imply that pigs are evil. In Islam, there is nothing that actually declares the animal to be evil, or anything of the sort. Not eating pork or pig meat is a very simple means of showing our devotion to our Almighty.

Another Muhammad Arshad Khan posted, “This is the main difference between Muslims and Hindus. We don’t eat pork meat but I does not mean that we hatred to those who eat or stop others to eat it. You people can eat it we have no objection.”
