Popular Front rubbishes accusations, condemn killings by UP Govt

The UP Police army clampdown on protestors killed as many as 27 individuals which also included an eight-year-old boy yet no enquiry into this bloodshed has been ordered.

Despite this, the government levelled accusations against the Popular Front of India of instigating violence in the peaceful protest.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, Parvez Ahamad, Delhi state president Popular Front said the organization is socio-secular, that treats people equally, stands for the rights of people and works for the upliftment of the society. The organization has never been involved in instigating violence or hatred among people unlike the political parties that use ‘divide and rule policy’.

UP Police’s Face saving Act

PFI National General Secretary M Muhammed Ali Jinnah in his latest statement has called UP Police accusations absurd and said it was an act to save their face for their violent misconduct on civilians.

Several leaders like Convenor Mohammed Waseem, Nadeem, Maulana Ashfaq who were not even protesting at the time of violence were taken into Police custody.

People have come together, regardless of all their differences, religion and marched against the unconstitutional, discriminatory legislation in cities and villages across the country which the BJP is attempting to suppress.

Judicial enquiry demanded

The PFI has called for a judicial enquiry into the killings of the 27 individuals which the UP Police claimed to have died in self-defence.

The organistaion has urged the people to continue the peaceful protest, campaign against the discriminatory CAA, NRC, also urging the people not to believe the false accusations levelled against them.

A recent report by the UP Police Chief sought a ban on PFI which the organization calls a ‘face-saving act’ after the police personnel turned the protests into bloodshed, destruction.

The organization also told the cold-blooded killings of innocents, the destruction of properties by the UP Police Army lay bare to the entire world.

The move against Popular Front is yet another authoritarian step by Yogi Police against democratic activism in the state the leaders said.
