popular Front to hold Freedom Parade in three states

Bhopal, August 10 (Pervez Bari): The Freedom Parade on the Independence Day will be held in three South Indian States at Mysore, Tanjavore, Idukki and Kannur. The National Executive Council meeting of Popular Front of India, (PFI), reviewed the preparations and finalized the program.

According to Press release of PFI issued by K. M. Shareef, General Secretary, from Bangalore the parade at Mysore will start from J. K. Maidan at 2 pm and conclude with a public meeting at Shaheed Tippu Sultan Nagar. Former State Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy will inaugurate the public meeting. Viswanath MP, Tanvir Sait MLA and A.K. Subbayya,

ex- MLC are among the guest speakers. Popular Front general secretary Shareef will deliver keynote address.

The parade at Tanjavore will start from AJS Garden at 2.30 pm and conclude with a public meeting at Shaheed Tippu Sultan Nagar. Thirmavalavan M.P. will be the chief guest. Popular Front chairman E. M. Abdul Rahiman will inaugurate the public meeting. State President Mohammed Ali Jinnah and National Treasurer Sheikh Dehlan Baqavi and T. J. M. Salahudheen Riyaji will speak on the occasion.

The parade at Idukki will start from Nedumkandam Bus Stand at 3.00 pm and conclude with a public meeting at Ayyankali Nagar. Popular Front vice chairman A. Saeed will inaugurate the public meeting. State Vice President P. Abdul Hameed, NCHRO State Chapter President Dr. M. S. Jayaprakash and others will speak on the occasion.

The parade at Kannur will start from Municipal Stadium at 10.30 am and conclude with a public meeting at Dr. Ambedkar Nagar. Social Democratic Party of India President Mr. E. Abubacker will inaugurate the public meeting. Ambedkar Samajvadi Party President Tej Singh will be the chief guest. Popular Front of India State President V. P. Nasarudheen will preside over the function.

The release said the purpose of Freedom Parade programme is to cherish the memories of our freedom fighters, to revive national spirit among the people and to motivate the citizens to be sentinels of freedom. This patriotic function was continuously held in Kerala every year since 2004. In the previous year Freedom Parade was convened with huge mass participation in Mangalore, Madurai, Kochi and Wynad.
