Poor public deprived of essential commodities despite making rounds of ration shops

The government which claims public welfare and development announces government schemes but due to lack of effective monitoring system the schemes benefit ruling party activists more than the general public. Even in the month of Holy Ramadan the ration shop dealers’ attitude towards poor public has not changed. Poor public is deprived of essential commodities on one pretext or other.

One such victim of ration shop dealers pig-headedness is a widow Akhtar Banu resident of Shama colony near Warramgadda who is deprived of ration for the past 3 months. The widow had somehow obtained ration card on the occasion of Rachabanda programme after which she got ration for 4 to 5 months then suddenly ration shop dealer refused to give ration to her forcing the family to starve. The dealer is asking her to go to CRO to get his consent, after which she will have to accept some money instead of ration, which according to Akhtar Banu is of no use. She even doesn’t know where the office of CRO is located. Here the question arises, if the card has any defect then how she got ration for initial 5 months?
