Pooja in Qutub Shahi Tombs, Archaeological Department remains spectator

State Archaeological Department has miserably failed in protecting the architectural masterpieces of the city and outskirts. Due to criminal negligence of the department pooja was performed in the premises of Qutub Shahi Tombs on Sunday while the archaeological department remained spectator.

It must be noted that Qutub Shahi Tombs have graves o f 7 rulers; there are altogether 70 tombs and shrines in the area. The royal graveyard is spread over 95 acres of land and has 19 masajid. Qutub Shahi Tombs is surrounded by complete boundary and has tight security. Locals called Siasat office and told that Pooja was performed in the premises on Sunday by slaughtering goat. When Siasat correspondent reached there he found that a large number of women were busy performing Pooja accompanied by 6 men. Surprisingly and sadly officials of State Archaeological Department turned blind eye towards the illegal pooja.

On informing, police officials in plain clothes reached the spot. One Kewal Singh told that he and his family arrived there to perform nature’s pooja. He confessed that there is neither a temple at the place nor he intended to make one.
