Two congress M Ps from Telangana, Ponnam Prabhakar and V Hanumantha Rao today mounted a scathing attack on the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his stand of Telangana issue.
Ponnam, speaking to the media at Karimnagar, strongly criticized the Chief Minister for changing his stand on State bifurcation and betraying the Congress party.
He said Kiran Reddy had repeatedly stated that he would abide by the decision of the party High Command on T issue, but turned into an opponent to Telangana state formation. This showed his unfaithfulness towards the party. It was unfortunate that Kiran Kumar Reddy happened to be Chief Minister at this juncture, he said and questioned why Kiran Reddy was not referring to Sonia Gandhi’s statements on T issue, while repeatedly talking about Indira Gandhi’s observations.
He said the people of Telangana should keep in mind the fact that they would be at a loss if the State was not divided now. He said that it was not proper to attack the Tribal Welfare Minister Balaraju as he has declared that he would abide by the decision of party high command.
Ponnam also said that had Dr YSR been alive he would have abided by the party decision.
Speaking at Nizamabad, Rajya Sabha member Hanumantha Rao said that Kiran Kumar Reddy was the real betrayer of Telangana and the Congress would not lose anything if he left the party. (NSS)
