Ponnam repeats charge against Jagadish Reddy

Congress senior leader and former Lok Sabha member from Karimnagar Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday reiterated his charge against Power Minister G. Jagadish Reddy.

Speaking to mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan, Ponnam said he stood by his allegations that Jagadish Reddy had received five per cent amount as bribe out of Rs 500 crore released as part of the fee reimbursement to the students, when Jagadish Reddy was minister for Education. Ponnam warned Jagadish Reddy that he has “full evidence” on the allegations that he had made earlier against the latter. The Congress leader demanded that the Chief Minister order a probe into the allegations against G. Jagadish Reddy. He also made it clear that he would reveal the irrefutable evidence only either before an inquiry committee or a court.

The wordy duel between Ponnam and Jagadish Reddy has taken a serious turn when the Minister demanded proof to substantiate his allegations that he had taken bribes for sanctioning amount for fee reimbursement to the students. He also questioned KCR that when he removed former deputy chief minister Rajaiah on corruption charge, why doesn’t he take similar action with regard to Jagadish Reddy? He also said though he had made a complaint through the toll-free number that was dedicated to take calls regarding corruption, there was no response so far on it. The Congress leader slammed Jagadish Reddy for using harsh language while criticizing him. (NSS)
