Lashing out at the TRS party for deviating from the tradition of making an election unanimous when a sitting MLA dies, former MP and Congress leader Ponnam Prabhakar has said that the TRS government didn’t glance at Narayanakhed when Congress MLA P Kishta Reddy was alive.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, Ponnam said that the Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao was dishonouring the people of the constituency by announcing that he would adopt Narayanakhed Assembly segment. He alleged that Harish Rao was the reason for the water scarcity in Narayankhed and said that the Minister has diverted the water from Singur Reservoir to Medak Town. He accused the TRS government of allotting funds to Narayanakhed constituency and said that it was allotting funds expecting political benefit in the on-going election. Water scarcity was severe in Narayanakhed due to diversion of Singur waters to Ghanpur, he alleged. (NSS)
