Congress senior leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Wednesday urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to dismiss Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy for his alleged involvement in Fee Reimbursement scam.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Ponnam said that KCR should dismiss Jagadish Reddy if he was honest in his claim of running a corruption-free government. He said that the minister did not appear before the Lok Ayukta although he was served notices thrice. He said that the minister should face a probe and prove his innocence instead of escaping probe by investigating authorities. He informed that the next hearing on his complaint against the minister was coming up hearing on June 13.
Ponnam also accused the TRS Government of implicating him in false cases in order to pressurise him to withdraw the complaint against Minister Jagadish Reddy.
The Congress leader also condemned the statements of KCR and Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy wherein they allegedly described Osmania University students are immature. He said that the OU students should launch a massive agitation until both KCR and Nayani tenders an unconditional apology. (INN)
