Ponnala ridicules KCR comment on Congress manifesto

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah today ridiculed Telangana Rashtra Samithi Chief K Chandrasekhara Rao for his remarks that the Congress had copied their Manifesto.

Talking to mediapersons here after reviewing arrangements for AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi’s public meeting at Karimnagar on April 17, Ponnala said the Congress is the oldest party in the country and it doesn’t need to copy anything from other parties. He said KCR is a ‘small fry’ who is trying to mislead the people for the sake of power and votes. Ponnala took serious exception to the TRS leader’s remarks that the Congress has lost credibility among public. “It is the Congress that kept its promise of carving out Telangana State by bifurcating Andhra Pradesh. KCR deliberately changed tack on merger of his party. Is it not KCR who changed tack on merger issue of his party into ours”, he retorted.

The TPCC chief refuted the allegations that the Congress has copied most of the promises of the TRS Manifesto. Ponnala maintained that the people will not favor TRS for KCR’s failure to keep his promise. “We have taken care in bringing out our manifesto after weighing pros and cons. KCR must stop the flip flop politics lest the people will teach him a lesson”, he warned. (NSS)
