Telangana Congress Chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah today said that it was his party that provided protection to Muslims and remained secular across the country. During Milad-Un- Nabi Celebrations to mark the birthday of Prophet Mahammed at Gandhi Bhavan attended by senior leader and MP V Hanumantha Rao, Ponnala extended greetings to Muslim people on the occasion. The festival is noted for brotherhood, peace and harmony he said adding that the path shown by Prophet Mahammed should be emulated. He expressed concern that the nation is witnessing a sorry state of affairs and confusion is prevailing among the people due to inefficient ruling by communal forces and political forces. He appealed to the people to nip in the bud these forces lest they will cause danger to the freedom and harmony.
Divijay, Raju visit from 20-23
The Congress leader said that the AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh and SC Cell Chief K Raju will participate in party’s future plan program to be held from Jan 20- to 23. The leadership will focus on strengthening the party from grassroot level to national he said. (NSS)
