Ponnala flays KCR on Council Chairman Election

Telangana Congress Chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah today flayed the TRS Government for violating Constitutional norms with regard to conducting election to Council Chairman’s post.
In an informal chat with mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan here, the Congress chief accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao of hoodwinking the people of the region. Instead of focusing on implementing his promises and assurances, KCR was indulging in making mockery of democracy, he alleged. Taking a dig at hasty decision on conducting Council Chairman’s election, Ponnala found fault with KCR for blatantly encouraging defections. The process of secret ballot is highly condemnable as the Opposition parties — Congress and TDP boycotted, he said. At least now, the TRS Government should come up with clarity on promises, he suggested. (NSS)
