Warrangal, April 18: Minister for Major Irrigation Ponnala Lakshmaiah has distributed 1900 acres of cultivable land to the poor in Mahabubabad division today.
He also reviewed the steps being taken by the officials for resolving drinking water problem in his native constituency during his whirlwind tour in the district. The Minister said that works worth Rs 20.28 crore were taken up in Jangaon for resolving water problem.
Similarly, a community hall and a marketyard are being built at a cost Rs 17.84 crore, he said. He directed the officials to complete the distributory pipeline works from Chitakodur by the end of April.
He made a surprise visit to the social welfare hostel in Hanamkonda.
City Mayor Errabelli Swarna, Vardhannapet MLA K Sridhar and others accompanied him.
He enquired the students if they were being provided breakfast and meals properly. He also visited MGM Hospital. He told the officials that there were complaints with regard to facilities and accommodation for patients in the hospital. He spoke to the patients and asked them about the services by doctors and nurses.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the officials for neglecting patients Later, he visited the Press Club building in Hanamkonda. Later in the evening, he participated in a meeting with the officials on and directed them to work for the succes of `Praja Patham’.
District Collector N Sridhar, ZP chairperson Lakavath Dhanvanti, MP Porika Balaram Naik and local MLA participated.
