Expressing concern over the plight of the farmers in Telangana State, Congress leader and former minister Ponnala Laxmaiah has alleged that the farmers suffered heavy losses due to unseasonal rains and there was no system to estimate the crop loss. He demanded that the State government to pay the arrears of loan waiver scheme.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, Ponnala said the State government was testing patience of the farmers and demanded that the State government implement the Rythu Bandhu scheme to the tenant farmers. Alleging that there was no compensation extended to the farmers under crop insurance scheme, Ponnala warned the TRS government saying that the farmers would teach a fitting lesson to the government.
