Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Tuesday expressed confidence that the Congress party would win the ensuing elections to form first government of Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons after administering oath to the Congress candidates at Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial at Gun Park here, Ponnala said that the Congress would at least 80 Assembly and 15 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. He said that the Congress party did justice with all the sections of the society and gave adequate representation to all communities. He indicated that some changes might be made in the list of candidates till Tuesday evening.
Ponnala said that majority of tickets have been given to Backward Classes and other weaker sections and therefore, he dismissed the complaints of injustice. (INN)
