In the runup to the ensuing general elections, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah today appointed a 14-member committee. Former minister Shabbir Ali will head the State-level Media Relations Committee. G Narayana Reddy was made in-charge of national media relations, according to information.
Other senior leaders to be spokespersons on behalf of Telanganana Pradesh Congress Committee include Mallu Ravi, Kamalakar Rao, Niranjan, Narsa Goud, Mrityunjayam, Narayana Reddy, Mahesh Kumar, P Ramesh, Shaym Mohan, Umesh, D Srinivas Rao and Kalpana Reddy.
The TPCC president is focusing on better media relations and the appointment of the new committee reflects the same. Earlier, he held parleys with Telangana leaders. He is said to have formulated a strategy for taking up continuous campaigning in the Telangana region. As part of preparing the poll strategy, Lakshmaiah has elicited views of senior leaders like D Srinivas, former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha and others. (NSS)
