Ponguleti demands revamping of party, State Govt

AICC secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Sunday said that the Congress High Command should focus its attention on re-structuring the party and State Government, which was drubbed in recent by-elections.

Talking to media persons in premises of Legislative Assembly, Sudhakar Reddy said that the reorganisation of party and revamping of State Government was urgently needed to prevent further erosion of party in the State. After party’s defeat in the recent by-elections in the hands of YSR Congress party, he said that the cadre’s morale has hit the rock bottom and there were in complete dilemma. To improve the morale among party cadre, he said that the High Command should depute senior ministers in the government and strengthen the party at grass root level.

Sudhakar Reddy appealed to the Congress High Command to focus its attention on tainted ministers and take serious action against them to improve morality. Apart from this, he said that the government should continue welfare programmes and work as per the wishes of people. He also appealed to government to take steps to make holy places in the State liquor-free.

The AICC Secretary also appealed to all regional parties in the State to support the candidature of Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee for the President’s post, for which elections will be held in July. He said that Pranab Mukherjee has exceptional qualifications to become President of India. (INN)
