Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Saturday reiterated his demand that an all party delegation be taken to the Central Government over the issue of Polavaram Dam design.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, Ponguleti alleged that Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu have hatched a conspiracy to hurt the interest of Telangana on Polavaram issue. However, he said that silence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was causing more damage to Telangana’s interest. He alleged that the rights of the tribals living in Khammam district were being hurt due to the wrong design of Polavaram Dam. However, he said that the Centre was yet to react on several complaints lodged by the affected tribals and public representatives.
Ponguleti demanded that the Chief Minister lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi on the issue. He asked KCR to accept the ground realities. The Chief Minister could achieve nothing by doing aerial surveys. Instead of flying high, he should learn to understand the intensity of ground realities, he said. (INN)
