AICC secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has advised all Congress leaders, irrespective of regions, to maintain restraint for one month so that the Centre would take a decision on Telangana issue.
Speaking to the media at the CLP office here on Tuesday, Ponguleti said as an AICC representative he was stating that the Centre would take a decision on Telangana issue. He said it was not proper to the leaders to make statements as their wish. He exuded confidence that the Centre would take a positive decision on Telangana issue. He also exhorted youths not to commit suicide for Telangana State as the Centre was seriously considering the issue to find a solution on it. He also urged the Centre to introduce the new law against the rapists and that should be severe. He said the imprisonment must be increased by more years and in cases like Nirbhay, the accused should be hanged to death.
Government Whip in the Legislative Council Rudraraju Padmaraju also advised the Congress leaders to remain calm for one month as Union Home Minister Susheel Kumar Shinde set the time to decide Telangana issue. He also said the Money Transfer Scheme launched by the Centre today was a great one. He said the scheme would remove the middlemen system. (NSS)
