Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail said, the carbon reserves were collecting on electric cables due to contamination near Uppal and Nagole, which makes the sudden stoppage of Metro trains.
On Sunday, metro rail stopped at Prakashnagar due to the pollution from dumping yard along with gases from open sewage causing the carbon deposits to collect on electric wires, leading to their malfunctioning.
The Managing director of HMR, N.V.S. Reddy said, “We have brought the problem to the notice of the Pollution Control Board and are also taking it up with senior government officials.
The carbon deposits on the electric wires are leading to this phenomenon. Maintenance schedules have been advanced to prevent such situations.”
Within a period of six months, two incidents happen of metro train’s stoppages, and it found that it was affecting the Uppal and Ameerpet areas.
The metro rail motto is to reduce carbon emissions for which now, there will be a pay and park facility to reduce the number of vehicles. The electric share-autorickshaws proved very successful for the Chennai Metro Rail.
