(INN): The Telugu Desam Party on Friday stated that the YSRC party won the by-elections due to sympathy wave of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s arrest by the CBI.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, TDP leader Motkupalli Narsimhulu said that the by-election results would not have any impact on the Telugu Desam Party. “The TDP has nothing to do with the by-election results and they will not have any impact on it,” he said. The TDP’s main aim was to win the 2014 general elections and the party would devise a strategy in that direction soon, he said.
Responding to the victory of TRS candidate M Bhikshapathi from Parkal Assembly constituency over YSR Congress candidate Konda Surekha with a thin majority, Motkupalli Narsimhulu termed it as a ‘facile victory’ for TRS. He warned of serious consequences if TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao fails to achieve statehood for Telangana region within the next three months.
