Polling for Six Constituencies of A.P. Legislative Council today

Polling will take place today for three vacancies of MLC’s in each of Graduates and Teachers constituencies. The polling will start at 8 am and will end at 4 pm today. A special sketch pen would be provided at polling centres for marking votes. The voters should indicate their preferences of 1, 2 or 3 against the name of the candidates.

No other mark or writing is allowed on the ballot paper. In case of doubt about the procedure of voting, the voters can seek clarification from the concerned polling officers. Mr. Bhanwarlal, Chief Electoral Officer gave the details of voting system and the arrangements for polling. He was addressing the press reporters at Media Point in Secretariat yesterday.

He told that East and West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Medak, Nizamabad, Adilabad & Karimnagar are included in three graduates constituencies. There are 5,76,963 graduate voters in these constituencies. 64 candidates are in the race for three vacancies of MLC’s from graduates constituencies.

In addition to these, there are three vacancies in teachers constituencies in Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, Medak, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram & Vishakapatnam.

There are 55158 teacher voters. The number of candidates is 19 for three vacancies of MLC’s in Teachers constituencies.
