Polling arrangements have been completed in Mahbubnagar district where by-elections to three Assembly constituencies – Kollapur, Mahbubnagar and Nagarkurnool — would be held on March 18.
Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been handed over to the polling staff on Saturday morning at the Boys Junior College here. The polling staff would leave with their EVMs to the polling centers by this evening.
Police made elaborate security arrangements as maximum number of three of the total seven seats are in this district. Some 5,000 security personnel, including the State police, Central para-military, armed and reserve forces are being deployed in the constituencies. Thirteen mobile security units have been set up to rush to any place of disturbance at short notice. (NSS)
