New Delhi: The election schedule for Rajya Sabha was released on Thursday. The election notification for 57 (from 15 States) Rajya Sabha vacant seats will be issued on May 24. Polling will be held on June 11 and counting of votes will be held on the same evening.
Two seats from Telangana and four seats from Andhra Pradesh will be vacated. The term of Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao, Gundu Sudharani (she was elected to Rajya Sabha from TDP and joined TRS party recently) will be completed.
From Andhra Pradesh–Sujana Chowdhary (TDP), JD Sheelam (Congress), Jairam Ramesh (Congress) and Nirmala Seetharaman (BJP) term will be completed. M Venkaiah Naidu’s term, who was elected from Karnataka state, is also completing along with others. (NSS)
