Hyderabad, July 10: In his previous five-year tenure, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy did not find time to inaugurate or lay foundation stones for at least 30 different projects in Hyderabad.
But between July 13 and 15, the CM will more than make up for the same. He would be inaugurating and laying foundation stones for 30 projects in different parts of the city to be taken up by the Greater Hyderabad Mu n i c i p a l Cor porat i o n (GHMC), Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB), Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and other departments.
This is all in view of the ensuing elections to the GHMC to be held in August/September this year. Before the election code comes into force, the Chief Minister is keen to complete all such formalities.
Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy who is also the Hyderabad District In-charge Minister along with Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, Anam Narayana Reddy, BC Welfare Minister Mukesh Goud and Health Minister Danam Nagender are working overtime to ensure that the CM’s stone-laying spree is a g r a n d s u c c e s s. GHMC , HMWS&SB and HMDA officials have been pressed into service to finalise the schedule and such other arrangements.
The GHMC has about 15 projects on hand like inauguration of the road-over-bridge (RoB) at Seetaphalmandi, Muslim Jung Bridge near Puranapul, rubber dam across River Musi and housing schemes.
The HMDA’s list includes inauguration of the beautified pond near Khairatabad flyover on the NTR Marg Road, Noor Mohammed Kunta Park and Sewage Treatment Plant, laying of foundation for the Road-over- Bridge at Sanjeevaiah Park and Science Park in the Sanjeevaiah Park.
The HMWS&SB wants foundation stones laid for its sewerage master plan for the Old City, Rajendranagar and Seri Lingampally Circles, inlets and outlet mains at reservoirs.
