Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today said politics is a profession which can bring about a change the life of the people and also do a lot of good to society.
Participating at a fuction in connection with the international Women’s Day at the old assembly building hall, here the Chief Minister said that politics is a very good, but a tough profession. He called upon women to take active part in politics. Referring to the Cuomen’s Reservation Bill, the Chief Minister said he would favour all political parties reserving 33 per cent seats for women.
This would enable more women to participate in politics. Replying to a question posed by a student, he said the reservation policy has been brought by the government to ensure that all those castes which were discriminatged against for centuries are developed. Responding to another question on prohibion, the Chief Minister said the government is coming out with a new excise policy in June which would try to reduce the number of liquor shops.
