The prevailing politicization of religion and community is the major hurdle in the promotion of secularism although more than half of the population is struggling for the survival of secularism. These views were expressed by Mr. Amer Ali Khan news editor Siasat. He was addressing a programme here at Communist Party of India (CPI) headquarters. Tanzeem-e-Insaaf held the programme entitled ‘Secularism is in Danger’ aiming at safeguarding secularism.
Addressing the meeting of the intellectuals, news editor Siasat said that the rising politics of communalism in the country was a threat for the country. He strongly condemned parties who politicize religion. Such parties should not be accepted, he said.
Secretary of the Tanzeem Mr. JUJ Ram, Mr. Kamala Reddy CPI Telangana assistant Joint Secretary, Yella Venkat Reddy, VR Narsimha Rao, N Chakravorty and others addressed on the occasion. Measures to put a curb on communal activities were stressed.
