On Thursday morning, Julakanti Pulinder Reddy, a CPM party leader and sarpanch of Narasingulagudem in Munagala of Nalgonda district, was put to death by his political rivals at Kodad bypass.
As per reports, the sarpanch was brutally attacked with lethal weapons by unidentified miscreants while he was travelling in his vehicle. They allegedly axed him to death.
Some onlooker immediately shifted him to the Kodad government hospital. He was referred to a private hospital as he was in critical state. But Pulinder Reddy pass away on the way to the hospital.
The situation in Narasingulagudem is tense after news of the death of the sarpanch spread. On receipt of the news, CPM activists and the villagers rushed to Kodad to pay their last respects to Puilnder.
A case of murder has been registered by the police and is investigating. The cops suspect political rivalry to be the cause of murder.
